Privacy
This notice covers the information we handle through this website. It does not cover the Operra voice agent service — that is governed by a separate, fuller privacy policy which we provide to customers before they sign anything.
Who we are
Operra AI Pty Ltd (ABN 96 702 419 663), an Australian company, registered office 7b Claremont Street, South Yarra VIC 3141. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What this site collects
Very little, deliberately.
- No analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. This site sets none, which is why you are not being asked to accept any.
- Standard server logs. Our hosting provider records the usual technical details of a page request — IP address, time, the page requested, browser type. These are used to keep the site running and secure.
- Anything you email us. If you write to hello@operra.com.au, we hold your message and your address so we can reply.
Why we use it
To respond to your enquiry, to keep the site available and secure, and to meet our legal obligations. We do not sell personal information and we do not disclose it for anyone else's marketing.
Who else handles it
Our website hosting provider, and Microsoft, which provides our email. Both process information outside Australia. Under Australian Privacy Principle 8 we take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, by using established providers that publish their security and privacy commitments. You should understand that once information is overseas, the protections available to you may differ from those under Australian law.
How long we keep it
Email correspondence: 24 months from our last contact with you, unless we are required to keep it longer. Server logs: as retained by our hosting provider in the ordinary course.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Write to hello@operra.com.au and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first.
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, tell us at the same address. We will acknowledge within 5 business days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au, on 1300 363 992, or at GPO Box 5218, Sydney NSW 2001.
Changes
We will update this notice as the site changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
